What should I expect when using tallow for the first time?
Our whipped tallow balm feels rich, velvety, and deeply moisturizing—quite different from water-based lotions. Because it's made without fillers or synthetic ingredients, it melts effortlessly into your skin and a little goes a long way. You’ll likely notice lasting hydration and a soft, healthy glow with just a fingertip’s worth.
Is it greasy?
Not at all. Many store bought lotions contain drying agents (such as alcohol – yes, alcohol!) and also water. Because of this, they don’t only soak into your skin, the “dry”. Our tallow creams contain no water or alcohol so there is no drying, only nourishment that soaks deep into your skin. Because of this fact, you will typically need a smaller amount than you would typically need.
Does tallow smell like beef?
Nope, not even a little. We use only 100% grass-fed beef tallow—purified and blended with organic essential oils and sweet almond oil to create a soft, elegant aroma. There are no artificial fragrances or meaty undertones—just pure, subtle luxury your skin will love. Even the unscented is balanced nicely by the Sweet Almond leaving an elegant, luxurious aroma.
What if my tallow balm melts in transit?
Tallow is naturally sensitive to heat and may soften or melt during warmer months. If your balm arrives melted or partially separated, simply give it a gentle stir and place it in the refrigerator for 15–30 minutes to reset the texture. The nourishing benefits remain completely intact.
Why is my balm firmer (or softer) than expected?
Because we don’t use emulsifiers, thickeners, or synthetic stabilizers, texture may vary slightly with temperature. It may feel firmer in cooler environments or softer in warm ones—but rest assured, every jar is packed with the same skin-loving nourishment.
How should I store my tallow balm?
There's no need to refrigerate it, room temperature works fine.
Is it safe to use on the face?
Absolutely. Our balms are safe for use on the face, lips, hands, and body. Many customers even use it as a nighttime moisturizer or gentle eye balm and makeup remover.
Is tallow safe for sensitive skin or acne-prone skin?
Yes! Tallow closely mimics the structure of human sebum, making it exceptionally gentle and compatible with all skin types—even sensitive or blemish-prone skin. Many customers find it helps balance oil production without clogging pores.
